Sarah is a Junior at SUU, studying English and Philosophy. You can usually find her either wandering around up the canyon, trying new recipes, or taking care of her plants. In her spare time, she enjoys consuming unreasonable amounts of coffee and contemporary fiction. She hopes to eventually have a career in academia and a lot of stories from her own adventures.

Autumn is a psychology major with a love of literature. Her favorite genres are poetry and pretty much all kinds of fiction. She is a Lord of the Rings nerd, otter lover, and not-so-reformed theater kid. Autumn can often be found in her Hobbit hole snacking on cheese and dark chocolate, or occasionally going on outdoor adventures/quests.

Rayne is a Junior English Creative Writing Major. She is an avid vinyl collector and is proud of all her orginal Beatle records. When she is not playing Animal Crossing, you can find her at Indie Rock concerts, running, or rewatching Twilight. She hopes to become a published author writing YA sci-fi and realistic fiction.

Parker is in his Sophomore year at Southern Utah University, majoring in Social Work and Minoring in Family Services and Psychology. Parker is passionate about helping others and loves to connect with others. When he has free time, Parker loves to read, play video games, hang out with friends, and spend time outdoors being active. You’ll never know if he is spending his weekend partying to Pitbull, or trudging through the narrows in Zion!

Heather Turner is a Junior at SUU dual-majoring in English creative writing and strategic communication. She is currently working as Editor-in-Chief of the University Journal and spends most of her time in the newsroom writing and publishing campus news. Outside of school and work, Heather loves to spend time with her friends and family, bake and watching football. Go Bills!

Morganne is a senior majoring in English Literature. As an literature lover, you can probably find her reading gothic classics or writing poetry. Outside of school she enjoys crocheting, hiking, and going to concerts!

Abbey is a senior majoring in graphic design. She enjoys anything relating to visual and
performing arts. Outside of graphic design, Abbey enjoys painting, crafts, cooking, and
performing music.

Ben is a Senior graphic design student at SUU. He is very passionate about poster design, and blends his passions for art and music as the creative director at SokHop Live, a local concert series. Ben also makes music, serving as bass player for the Southern Utah based rock band Black Cat Parade.

Sav is a senior graphic designer at SUU and an avid Coke Zero connoisseur. You'll most likely find them bed-rotting and working on projects while watching Drag Race with their two cats. If they have free time away from designing, they like to indulge in being with friends, jewelry making, cooking, concerts and screaming car karaoke.

Senior graphic design student at SUU, or Irish poet, playwright, novelist, and critic? They’ll
never tell. Gracie is a lover of horror, gothic literature, and lying in the grass while it rains. Don’t
ask them about the portrait they keep in their attic.

Abby is a senior at SUU in the graphic design program. She enjoys doing nails, binging a good tv show, and every craft she can get her hands on. She anticipates continuing to develop her creative skills professionally after graduation!

Morgan is a Senior studying Graphic Design at SUU. Alongside her passion for Graphic Design, she has a huge interest in Board Games and hopes to take her Graphic Design skills into the industry of Board Game design someday!

Dallin is a senior studying Graphic Design and is especially interested in designing vinyl records, posters, books, or anything music related. He loves writing, music, horror movies, and spending time with his dog Milo.

Charlie Jones is the Editor in Chief of KCR this year! They're a senior who loves to write convoluted plots and explore nature through hiking, biking, and rock climbing. He volunteers at the local animal shelters and loves to write flash fiction or poetry about everyday experiences in their array of unique and over-organized notebooks.

Case has always had a passion for reading and writing and can often be found rereading any of Brandon Sanderson’s books. If he is not reading or writing, he is playing video games and getting way too invested in their lore. He enjoys Destiny, Warframe, and Monster Hunter. His favorite movies include both Into the Spider-Verse, Across the Spider-Verse, The Princess Bride, and all three Venom movies. He loves Autumn and the rain it brings.

Terran is a junior in the Outdoor Rec program who enjoys both playing in the outdoors as well as writing about it. He recently moved to Southern Utah from the Death Valley region and is passionate about using the arts for environmental advocacy. He likes to camp, ride horses, and hike—but prefers to take it slow so he can take note of every rock, plant, and insect on the trail. He loves to write and read fiction and poetry.

Aspen is a senior, graduating spring 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing. When she isn’t writing she can be found playing lacrosse, riding horses, or curled up with a coffee and a good book.

Jay is a junior at SUU studying English literature, that enjoys tales of faeries, K-pop, audio dramas, Dungeons and Dragons and crochet. They’ve been captured by stories, both reading and writing, for about eighteen years. The majority of their writing has been speculative fiction, and currently they are working on a novel! Most of the time you can find them hanging around campus with headphones and their nose in a book.

I have not yet rolled past the dock or the sea in an electric car. This is only to spite my arch-nemesis: alternative-rock band They Might Be Giants. However, that does seem like a good time, because I really love exploring dramatic settings. Future career goals include becoming a wildlife biologist and spending my work-days hiking around the boonies and my work nights at my high salaried book club. Fiction is my jam, I better finish the short stuff before I can dream of writing something longer.

Aimee is from Hurricane, Utah and a Senior studying graphic design. Her favorite areas of design are print and publication. When Aimee isn’t behind her sparkly laptop, she is spending time with family and friends, working in the resource room, or printing in the letterpress studio.

Hi! My name’s Jens Peterson! I’m a Graphic Designer Major at SUU graduating this spring! I love being outside, skiing, skateboarding, climbing, camping, etc!

Kayson is a senior graphic design student itching to get out into the real world. He enjoys making things with his hands and spending time with his wife and son. If you think this guy is a short fella, think again.

EJ is a junior studying graphic design, and the assistant art director for KCR. Graphic design is practically all she can think about. Besides design, she loves the outdoors, music, TV, theater, fashion, cooking, and ducks (but not cooking ducks).

Violet is a senior in the Graphic Design program at SUU. She enjoys reading (though she does not have nearly enough time for it) as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends. She is looking forward to making a career of her creative talents.

Sterling Larrabee is a junior here at SUU going into graphic design. You can find him outside when he is not working on his latest design project. He enjoys running, biking, climbing, and camping.

Kaitlyn is a Junior at SUU working towards a BFA in Photography with a minor in Art History. She loves shooting with her trusty Canon DSLR as well as her tried and true 35mm Minolta X-570. When she’s not out shooting, you can find her at The Grind with her friends yapping the day away and editing her newest shots.

Brinley is a senior majoring in graphic design and minoring in marketing. She loves having any sort of a creative outlet whether it’s designing, doodling, baking, painting or crafting. She spends most of her time working at the salon doing nails or spending time with friends and family doing things outdoors.

Serving as KCR faculty advisor (since 2019) is the best job Nano's ever had. The indie poetry mag he cofounded, Sugar House Review, is celebrating 15 years in 2024. An underachieving poet, you can spot some of his stuff in a handful of fine literary journals. Most importantly, he would very much like to meet your dog.

Katharine Tesar is a second-year Psychology student from Southern California. In her free time, she can be found writing creative nonfiction, playing hide-and-seek with her cat, Midnight, or going on elaborate hikes without checking the weather forecast first. She's been published in the Kolob Canyon Review, and hopes to one day publish a whole book while working tandem as an adolescent clinical psychologist.

Hailea is a senior English Creative Writing major with a Family Services minor who loves to create spaces for people. Within the literary world, she loves to read pretty much anything you’ll give her, with a particular love for creative nonfiction. She has published pieces with Kolob Canyon Review and The Global Review and hopes to one day publish novels, memoirs, and anything else about whatever captivates her attention.

Besides the things you probably need to know about Ollie (rhetoric and creative writing dual major, philosophy minor, sophomore at SUU), they’d also like you to know they’ve been obsessed with storytelling since they could tell a story (especially fantasy, sci-fi, and horror) love talking about why stories matter, as well as being passionate about music (especially punk rock and indie) and art (including ceramics, painting, and drawing) and enjoy creating all of the above as a passionate academic and creative. As an additional warning: if you get them talking about anything listed above, you won’t be able to get them to stop.

Kayd Johanson, when not being a skrunkly weirdo gremlin, is a SUU student studying Creative Writing and Art. For someone in their junior year who cares way too much about cartoons, they can go on for hours about the intricacies of storytelling and why exactly some stories suck (looking at you Wish). They're passionate about seeing stories that can change a person's perspective, mainly ones that can invoke uncomfortable and introspective thoughts about someone and their worldview. They enjoy reading both fiction and creative nonfiction an excessive amount. They won first place in Scriblerian's Expressive category their Freshman year in the Spring of 2023, and have only grown as a writer since then. They want to help others tell their stories and get their passions out there, and in their opinion, a literary journal is an amazing way to do it.

Kaylee Condie is a complete bookwyrm. She doesn't inch her way through books like an adorable worm, she inhales them with the fury of a dragon. Sometimes as many as two 400-paged books a day. Her favorites are middle-grade fantasy, rom-coms, and picture books. You can normally find her on the third floor of the university library, in the children's or YA section in the public library, or on the swing dance floor. The only time her nose isn't in a book is when she's dancing or driving. While she is a child at heart, she is a senior at SUU. She also loves semi-sweet chocolate, lemonade, karaoke, and playing Just Dance. She can also go on long tangents about Miraculous Ladybug, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and why Pumpkin Pie is horrible.

Rachel is a senior who is double majoring in Creative Writing and Equine studies. She can be found with her nose stuck in a book or cozied up playing Animal Crossing New Horizons. A lover of all things literature, Rachel is so excited to mount up and help create this year’s edition of the Kolob Canyon Review. Yee haw!

Dan is a senior designer from St.George who loves incorporating illustrations into her work. Find her fishing, grilling, or just at home watching four hour lore videos. She loves drawing creatures and hanging with friends. Feel free to say hi for deep chats or an impromptu trip up the mountain!

Cindy Dransfield is a senior majoring in Graphic Design here at SUU. She loves to design and play with typography. Outside of graphic design she loves to read, draw, go on a hike, camping, watch movies and spend time with her cat.

Hadlee is a Senior Graphic Designer from SUU with a love of storytelling and all things aesthetically pleasing. She has a deep passion for art and design, webcomics, music, fashion, and video games and spends literally all of her free time engaging in them. She does absolutely nothing else. Her dream job would be none, because does anyone really want to work? But if she had to choose she’d make webcomics for a living or design the visual identity for any and all games.

Amaia is a senior in the graphic design department. Her favorite areas of design are branding
and UX Design. In her freetime, she reads, watches movies, and spends time with friends
and family.

Katherine is an Iowa native graphic designer studying and creating in Southern Utah. She loves photography, illustration, motion design, and goats. They are cute and cuddly and no one can convince her they aren’t the universe's most perfect creation.

Ash is a senior at SUU majoring in Graphic Design. She loves having a creative outlet through art and design. When she’s not creating Ash can be found reading, playing video games, listening to music, going on drives, and being outside.

I am a soon-to-be graduate in graphic design, as well as a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for visual communication!! My academic background has equipped me with a strong foundation in design principles and software proficiency, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.This year I have honed my skills in branding, typography, layout design, and user experience. I have also gained valuable experience with deadlines and creating compelling designs that meet specified needs and exceeds expectations. In addition to my technical skills, I possess excellent communication and project management abilities, and I thrive in collaborative environments. I am a self-starter who is able to manage my time effectively and take on multiple projects simultaneously. As I approach graduation, I am eager to apply my skills and passion for design to a professional setting and contribute to a creative team :)

Kate is a Graphic Design major and enjoyer of horror movies. Her creative energy and love for art is fueled by Taco Bell and gluten free brownies. She spends her free time tackling any kind of craft she can get her hands on, she is consuming digital media, playing volleyball, or hanging out with friends.
