Zach Van Pelt
Editor-in-Chief
Zac is a senior English major at SUU who is working his way towards grad school. He can often be found wandering aimlessly at bookstores or nestled at the movies.
Megan Warner
Assistant Editor
Megan Warner is an English major with an emphasis in Creative Writing and Technical Writing and a minor in Graphic Design. She loves writing short stories and poetry and pretending she’s good at both. She wants to be an editor in the future with writing as her side hoe. In the very little free time she has, she enjoys reading, painting, knitting terrible scarves, and petting cats.
Madeline Peck
Madeline Peck is a literature major with too much cinematic knowledge and not enough of a practical education. She can’t change a tire on a car, but boy can she break down film noir for you. Down with the bourgeoisie, long live the proletariat.
Nicole Heath
An enjoyer of all things written, Nicole Heath is known to give feedback on papers and stories alike whether you ask her to or not. She is currently an English major at SUU with aspirations of becoming an editor. Oftentimes she will make you feel bad about a piece before she makes you feel good about it. You can typically find her…well, you typically can’t. She’s pretty good at hiding.
Hannah Duncan
Hannah M. Duncan is a current English major and cat enthusiast. She loves every medium of storytelling—poetry, story, screenplay—you name it! She hopes to grace your local bookstore someday with her name on the spine of a novel. She also recommends you visit Dolly’s Bookstore in Park City, Utah. It has cats, chocolate, and books. What’s not to love? (Not sponsored by Dolly’s. She just really likes it there.)
Peyton Carter
From Draper/Sandy, Utah, Peyton J. Carter aspires to be a high school English teacher (the kind whose name students may not remember, but whose lessons they’ll never forget). If that doesn’t work out, he can always be a bestselling author! His dream is to make an impact on children’s, middle grade, and young adult literature, encouraging young minds to explore diverse ideas and identities, and the beautiful gift of critical literacy. He enjoys critiquing things. Like the Patriarchy.
Karen Olson
Karen Olson is studying English and Spanish. When she’s not reading, writing, or binge-watching, she’s spending time with friends and family. Having grown up in a small Utah town, Karen is a country girl at heart. She can often be found blasting the stereo of her Chevy with the windows down.
Beau Barton
Beau Barton has been pretending to be a writer all his life. Growing up in the small town of Monticello, Utah, he learned to entertain others by telling stories. Today he loves to both create and talk about narratives. Topics his family and friends wish he’d shut up about include: Raymond Chandler novels, Bruce Timm cartoons, film noir, and comic books. He is currently pursuing a degree in creative writing at Southern Utah University and is a member of the KCR editorial staff.
Casey Lamb
Casey Lamb is a reader and editor for the KCR. He began copy-editing as a way to justify his habit of telling people that they're wrong. When he's not writing or reading, he can be found overanalyzing and generally ruining pop culture for himself.
Rhett Steadman
Rhett Steadman is studying Creative Writing and Secondary Education at Southern Utah University. He enjoys spending time in his imagination and in the outdoors, oftenvat the same time. After graduating in May 2020, he plans to teach writing in high school, while pursuing writing part time.
